Biographies and Other Interesting Information

MEMORIAL: I'm deeply grieved as I add the name of Marvin L. Shoup to this list. Marvin and Lela (FF-KK, Vol. 3, pp. 570-571) have been such dear friends since 1989. They both have FRANTZ ancestry and Lela was extremely helpful with countless reams of valuable family information. Without her, we would not have "the Dore Frantz manuscript" and Frantz Families -- Kith & Kin would have been woefully incomplete! ~~ Little things mean a lot: I remember Marvin greasing the ball of my trailer hitch because, obviously, this woman traveling alone (with a camp trailer) had overlooked that detail. ~~ Furthermore and far more important: Marvin made it possible for me to have the tombstones of Michael Frantz (1791-1860; FF-KK, Vol. 3, pp. 5-9), and four family members, moved from the old farm to Myers Cemetery. We three moved the tombstones (long buried in the ground) and cleaned them up. Several months later, Marvin and Lela built the concrete base (with steel reinforcement) and reverently set the stones in place. A worthy addition to the cemetery because Michael's first wife, Elizabeth Crist (1792-1823), was the first burial in that cemetery. ~~ Eternally grateful!! XOXOXOXO ~~ 2 Feb 2013

Another dear friend has preceded me to Heaven. Ronald Joseph Filbrun (1936-2013) was extremely kind and generous when I moved from Lancaster, California, to Brookville, Ohio. To describe all his thoughtful deeds (for me) would fill several pages! But Ron was kind and generous with everyone--a modern day "Good Samaritan." I'm told that people stood in line for two hours for the viewing--a testimony to his vast number of friends in the community. ~~ Eternally grateful!! XOXOXOXO ~~ 3 Apr 2013

Tues. Feb. 5, 2013 and I've just experimented with an embedded file. Building this website is a new experience and poses some challenges. I mentioned the "cousin chart" (above) for Don Frantz and yours truly. At least for now (thanks to the experiment), I have it displayed here.
Note: Tues. Feb. 24, 2015: The embedded file fails to upload. See the document by clicking this link. ~~ How curious!! I inserted the link and "published" and mysteriously the graph appeared, too. So-o-o-o, if the graph is not available, try the link. (Websites are a challenge!!)
